Discussion: FROPA is upon us! The upper level trough currently over the Rockies is expected to deepen as it pushes through Texas on Thursday, bringing with it an associated cold front. While the best chances of lift and instability are centered over North Texas and the southern plains, Southeast Texas could see its fair share of showers and thunderstorms associated with the frontal passage. In its wake will be some very cool, dry autumn days for our weekend ahead. Expect highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s and 50s for the weekend before moisture return from the Gulf begins.
