This weekend was a wet one across Southeast Texas, dropping nearly 4 inches of rain across Bryan and College Station, with 3.96 inches measured at Easterwood Airport. Behind the rain a cold front helped to dry things out but rain chances are on the increase this week thanks in part to Hurricane Odile which is currently situated over the Baja Peninsula. The upper level flow in the atmosphere will push some of that moisture into Texas, which will combine with a Tropical Wave that is moving in from the Gulf of Mexico. Enhanced moisture from these two features will result in a chance of storms each day through mid week with the afternoon heating. After that we start to clear out heading into the weekend. Next week may feature the return of an old friend…the cold front. Stay tuned to TAMU Weather Broadcasting for the latest!
