About Us
The mission of Texas A&M Weather Broadcasting is to provide students with essential forecasting and actual on-air experience for landing an internship or beginning a career. Students gain useful practice for future careers in the National Weather Service and in broadcast meteorology.
Our association with KAMU radio began in the fall of 2004 under the direction of Zachary Glenn. In the spring of 2006, full operations started under the leadership of James Tobin. Currently, student volunteers broadcast weather forecasts over KAMU-FM 90.9 Monday through Friday from 6 to 9am and 4 to 6pm. Students also provide a forecast through the Batallion podcast each weekday.
