Local Weather Forecast
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 3:47pm by Jorge TorresTonight: Mostly Clear: Low 74. Southeasterly winds at 5 mph.
Tomorrow: Partly Cloudy with a 20% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. High 95. Southeasterly winds at 5 mph.
Tomorrow Night: Clear skies. Low 75. Light and variable winds.
Discussion: Another hot and steamy day here in the Brazos Valley, and expect little to no change for a few days. We still may see some afternoon showers and thunderstorms due to daytime heating, but this will diminish once the upper-level ridge in the west moves eastward towards Texas, causing subsidence, or sinking air, and turning Tropical Storm Gustav more to the northwest, which is why forecasters are saying that it will most likely make landfall from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle, but it is too early to say what will happen.
